Learning Outcomes
Understanding and Recognizing NACE Competencies:
English faculty will briefly describe NACE and its core competencies in order to utilize a common vocabulary for talking about career readiness skills campus wide.
Mandel Grant Alignment:
Faculty will review the Mandel grant’s intersection with English 161, one of the courses chosen in A & H to focus student attention on developing skills and the language of career readiness that employers value, aligning with grant goals to improve student employability in the Humanities.
Integrating Competencies into Curriculum:
Participants will learn how English faculty incorporated NACE competencies into the Common Course Shell for English 161 in order to increase student awareness of how course assignments align with career readiness expectations of employers.
Sharing Best Practices:
English faculty will share their use of the TILT model to create assignments designed to promote and assess student proficiency in NACE competencies.
